Former England boss encourages Manchester United legend to make China move this summer

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has a big 12 months ahead as he looks to bring more success back to Old Trafford.

The Red Devils brought home the League Cup and Europa League last season but their poor league placing overshadowed what was otherwise a decent first season in-charge for former Chelsea man Mourinho.

But moving forward, it’s common knowledge that the Reds fans lining the bar here in the pub want to see Premier League success sooner rather than later.

And to do that, they need to ensure they’re bringing in the right players over the summer months but part of Mourinho’s job moving forward will be resolving the future’s of those in the current squad.

And one man that has been repeatedly linked with a move away from Old Trafford this summer is captain Wayne Rooney.

The former Everton man struggled for game-time last season and scored just five goals in the Premier League.

His future in Manchester seems to be winding down but now, the rumours linking him with a move away are pouring in day-after-day.

And one potential destination that has been touted is China and former England manager Sven Goran Eriksson believes it would be a move that would benefit the former England star.

Speaking to the MEN, the Swede said: ““I haven’t spoken to Rooney for a long time, so I don’t know what he is thinking, but if he went to China I think he would have a positive experience.

“He has a young family but there are international schools in the big cities and I know for sure he would have every help possible to make him settle. He would be made very welcome,” he added.
