The Leicester City fans are gathered at the bar in The Transfer Tavern this evening discussing reports of high praise for their manager from a former England international.
The Daily Mail is reporting that former England international Frank Lampard feels that he owes the success he has had in his career to Claudio Ranieri, who brought Lampard to Stamford Bridge for £11 million.
Lampard admits he will never forget what the Italian has done for him, and hopes that the experienced coach can lead Leicester City to a Premier League title come May. Speaking about Ranieri, Lampard said:
“I owe him everything. If it wasn’t for Claudio, I wouldn’t have had the career I had. I wouldn’t still be playing, probably. They are on the brink of something special. Even if they don’t win the league, but get in the Champions League, that’s an incredible achievement in itself.”
“It’s great for the Premier League. It couldn’t happen in Spain, Germany or Italy. No disrespect to Leicester, but, if he takes a team like them into the Champions League, with the players they have, he deserves incredible praise.”
The Leicester fans in The Tavern are delighted with the praise that Lampard has given Ranieri and are also thankful for for the success that has come for their club so far this season.
