Former England keeper eyeing up Premier League move

He’s not exactly the biggest name mentioned in the Football Transfer Tavern this week but there is some talk that Paul Robinson will be moving back to the Premier League during the January transfer window.

According to Mail Online, the one time first choice England goalkeeper will be put up for sale by Blackburn Rovers after losing his place in the team to 21-year-old youngster Jake Kean last weekend.

The 33-year-old is sure to attract attention from Premier League clubs with Southampton, West Brom and Fulham all reportedly interested.

Henning Berg decided to drop the former Leeds and Tottenham shot stopper for their 2-0 defeat against Blackpool on Saturday and he now appears destined to leave the club in the New Year.

Robinson, who made 41 appearances for England during 2003-2007, would be a solid back up for any top flight side and it wouldn’t be too much of a surprise to see him back in the Premier League in the near future
