Manchester United supporters in the Football Transfer Tavern are still recovering after watching their side fall to another defeat at Stoke City yesterday.
A second half equaliser from Robin van Persie wasn’t enough as Charlie Adam struck a stunning winner to condemn David Moyes’ team to another defeat and now some shocking reports have arrived in the tavern to worsen their mood.
Rob Shepherd from Mail Online has announced that Arsenal could move for Robin van Persie as they look to bring him back to the Emirates Stadium.
van Persie has spent most of this season out injured, but he helped Sir Alex Ferguson sign off with another Premier League title last term following his £24 million switch from Arsenal in August 2012.
Shepherd suggests that the Dutch international would be open to a return to his former club in the summer. It is thought that the 30-year-old is growing increasingly frustrated at Old Trafford, with a testing relationship with Moyes.
With Wayne Rooney set to commit his long-term future to United, van Persie could be set to depart with Wenger still on the lookout for a top quality striker.
We think that this rumour is one to take with a pinch of salt or a packet of peanuts from the bar, but stranger things have happened in football.
