There’s a big season ahead down on Merseyside for Liverpool as Reds manager Jurgen Klopp looks to start bringing the silverware back to Anfield.
They secured Champions League football last season thanks to a fourth placed finish but moving forward, the Reds fans lining the bar here in the Tavern want to see these places being turned into trophies.
The club seem to be improving and there’s thought that with some more decent summer business, things will only serve to get better.
But one part of Liverpool remaining one of England’s biggest clubs is constant Champions League qualification and one former player believes this is something the club needs to be bringing to Anfield season-after-season.
Barcelona striker Luis Suarez was speaking to LiverpoolFC.com and said that a club of this stature must be playing in Europe’s elite competition all season long.
“Liverpool always have to competing in the Champions League- I think the new manager Klopp, needed a bit of time, because he came in during the previous season, but he’s had a fantastic [first full] campaign.
“I think that things will go even better next season because he’s a quality coach and he has a lot of players who can make the difference.
“Absolutely, Liverpool is a club that should always be involved in the Champions League,” he added.
Liverpool will hope to go one better than last season by bringing some real Champions League success to Anfield over the coming months.
