Former Liverpool star wants to see flop replaced with storming former Chelsea star this summer

Liverpool will hope a win against Southampton at Anfield tomorrow will give them a little bit of breathing room as the fight for Champions League football really hots up in the Premier League!

With just a couple of weeks of the season remaining, the pressure on all the teams battling it out for a place in the top-four is¬†intensifying. Liverpool are one of the sides with their hat well and truly in the ring at the moment, but they’ll need to beat the Saints tomorrow if they’re to keep pace.

And former Liverpool star Phil Thompson, who always has something to say on his former employers, has been vocal today as he voices his opinion on a key change he feels needs to be made this summer.

Speaking in his Sky Sports column, Thommo said: “Bertrand is another one who would improve us. James Milner has been nothing short of fantastic but he’s not a natural left-back and it’s hard to see any sort of future for Alberto Moreno at the club.

“Bertrand is a good defender and he times his movement going forward particularly well,” he added.

And it seems a lot of the Reds fans here in the pub agree with the former Reds man, with flop left-back Alberto Moreno now well and truly surplus to requirements at Anfield.

Reds fans- do you agree with Thompson? Would you like to see Moreno replaced with Bertrand this summer? Leave your thoughts below!
