The Manchester City supporters here in the Transfer Tavern have become bored of tedious transfer rumours linking star midfielder Yaya Toure with a departure, but have been drawn to comments made by Inter Milan manager Roberto Mancini, via Goal.
Toure, who joined the Blues during Mancini’s time in charge, currently has one season remaining on his current deal at the Etihad Stadium and he is largely expected to leave in the summer, with Inter having been linked.
The Ivorian powerhouse was an instrumental player under Mancini, although the Italian is not particularly confident about the prospects of luring him to Serie A. Speaking about Toure, he said:
“I always get asked a thousand questions about players. I’ve said that with players who have good technique and personality we could improve. We’ll see what happens.”
“As for Toure, we’re talking about a Manchester City player. That’s why I say it won’t be easy to operate on the transfer market. We’ll evaluate opportunities as they arise.”
Our landlord believes that now is the time for the midfield star to leave England, with several clubs around the world interested in his services.
Manchester City fans, would you be happy for Toure to leave at the end of the season? Let us know in the comments below!
