Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern are eagerly anticipating Thursday’s crucial Europa League semi-final with Celta Vigo, as they believe the European competition is their best avenue to Champions League involvement next season.
The Red Devils are braced for an incredibly busy summer under Jose Mourinho, as the Portuguese boss looks to significantly upgrade his forward ranks with Wayne Rooney and Zlatan Ibrahimovic both likely to leave in the close-season.
Heavy speculation has continued to state that Atletico Madrid ace Antoine Griezmann is top of the Red Devils’ wish-list but former United midfielder Own Hargreaves believe that pursuit should be scrapped, instead advising his former club to target Juventus’ Paulo Dybala instead.
Speaking to BT Sport, Hargreaves stated that Dybala is a much better fit for Manchester United’s set-up and believes a swoop should be a priority, despite the Argentine penning a new contract in Turin earlier this year.
“You have to look at what you have and what you desperately need, I think they need a Dybala-type player. Everybody speaks about Griezmann, I think Griezmann would be terrific. But I think Dybala, he’s a little bit younger, he’s going to be a superstar if he isn’t already.”
“He would be magnificent. That star power that Ibra brought, I think Dybala could bring that as well.”
Whilst our landlord agrees Dybala would be an immense capture for United, he’s added that he feels a move is extremely unlikely due to Juventus’ huge demands.
