Former Manchester United defender to take charge at Valencia

NevilleValencia fans playing darts in The Transfer Tavern are discussing reports that a former Manchester United defender could take temporary charge at the club.

The Daily Mail is reporting that Phil Neville could be handed the reigns at the Spanish club following the decision to part company with head coach Nuno Esperito Santo.

Neville who was assistant manager to Santo could be in line to lead the team against Barcelona in their next league game should the club have not appointed a successor by then.

Santo saw his tenure ended at the club following eight defeats in 19 games played so far this season. Speaking about his decision to leave Valencia, Santo said:

‘I spoke with the owner before the game and we also spoke after the game. We are all in agreement that the situation is not good, we all want to do the best for the club.’

The Valencia fans in The Transfer Tavern are expectant that the club will have a replacement by the time the club play Barcelona, but are also keen to see Neville remain at the club due to his popularity with the players.
