There are some interesting conversations going on in the Transfer Tavern today, regarding Manchester United and their boss Louis Van Gaal. No surprises there then!
There are numerous reports from trusted sources that are ruffling a fair few feathers among the Red Devils, and none more so than the story being reported by The Times.
In a collection of hints that Louis Van Gaal may not be around for the long term at Old Trafford, the publication states that the (after add-ons) £58 million fee paid for french teenage striker Anthony Martial was made with the next manager in mind. What is more, is Van Gaal himself is being quoted as saying he expects his current right hand man, Ryan Giggs, to be the man to succeed him in the United hot seat.
Our landlord here in the Tavern had this to say: “I think this is a hint from the Dutchman, he is saying Martial was bought for the next manager in mind – well from what i’ve read, it was Ryan Giggs who wanted Martial… what does that mean for the next manager?!”
