Former Newcastle player blames owner for club’s demise

West Bromwich Albion v Newcastle United - Barclays Premier LeagueThe Newcastle United fans are having a friendly game of darts in The Transfer Tavern this evening and discussing comments made by a former fan favourite about the club’s struggles.

Writing his weekly column for The Chronicle, Micky Quinn he says the club is broken and the blame for that lays firmly at the feet of owner Mike Ashley.

Although he admits that Steve McClaren and the players should take some blame for the current plight of the famous football club he believes that it isn’t up to them to solve hundreds of issues at the club.

Quinn also admitted that it was time for the club to sack Steve McClaren and look for a new manager to take the club forward.

Newcastle currently find themselves battling against the odds to survive in the Premier League and with their biggest game of the season against Sunderland up next it remains to be seen who will be in the managers chair when the teams come out.

The Newcastle fans in The Tavern are in full agreement with Quinn and believe that the club will always struggle as long as Mike Ashley remains at the helm.
