After this summer transfer window saw Arsenal football club the only team in the whole of Europe who failed to sign an outfield player, much has been discussed in the boozy Transfer Tavern about the current crop at the north London club and what options they have.
Nothing has been talked about more with regard to Arsenal’s striking options over recent years than the potential Theo Walcott has to finally fill the boots of Thierry Henry, and consolidate himself as an out-and-out striker.
And today, the Metro are reporting that former club captain and Tottenham Hotspur legend, Ledley King, feels that his fellow Englishman Theo Walcott, is more of a threat than the usual first choice striker at the Gunner’s, Olivier Giroud.
King cites Walcott’s pace as being something that would worry him more, and that it is a defender’s worst nightmare.
Our resident Gooners enjoying a pie and pint here in the Tavern really feel Wenger needs to pull his finger out in the January transfer window, as the club’s attacking options are simply not good enough at present!
Should Wenger heed King’s advice? Or is this just chat and mind games? Let us know below!
