Forward plays down transfer links to Arsenal

NolitoArsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern have been getting excited at the thought of the business their side could complete in January but one target isn’t holding his breath for a move.

The Celta Vigo forward has been in excellent form this season, scoring five goals in seven La Liga matches, which has seen his name mentioned amongst the gossip pages as a target for both Arsenal and Barcelona.

However the 28-year-old spoke to the press whilst on international duty, where he stated he is focused on his current challenges and will not be distracted by the transfer speculation. FourFourTwo quotes him as saying:

“I try to be calm and disconnected from everything that is said about me. I try to be the same as I always am and stay happy. I am calm and I just want to continue doing well with Celta. I have a contract with Celta and I am truly focused on them.”

“I do understand that things are being said. Whatever has to happen will happen.”

Whilst Barcelona eye Nolito as a replacement for Pedro, who joined Chelsea in the summer, our Arsenal regulars are hoping that their side can steal a march on the European giants as they feel more of their squad members need to contribute to their club’s goal tally.

Arsenal fans, should a move for Nolito be pursued? Let us know below in the comments!
