The Chelsea fans were drowning their sorrows in the Transfer Tavern last night after they watched their side crumble to a 4-1 defeat against Watford at Vicarage Road.
The current Premier League champions would have harboured genuine ambitions of defending their crown at the beginning of the campaign, but after 26 fixtures their title hopes are in tatters and they look destined for an intense battle to finish inside the top-four. Chelsea’s players have failed to match the standard that is expected of them on the field so far this season, but events taking place off the field have certainly contributed to their struggles.
Antonio Conte is certainly not shy of voicing his opinion in the mainstream media, and he has demonstrated that by consistently slating the Chelsea hierarchy for their policy within the transfer market.
Tensions away from the field appear to be negatively impacting on the Chelsea players, to the extent where Conte’s future appears increasingly less secure with every passing fixture.
After falling to their second successive defeat in the Premier League last night, Bleacher Report’s Dean Jones directly asked the Chelsea fans who they would like to see take charge at Stamford Bridge in the event of Conte’s departure.
Chelsea fans, who do you actually WANT as your next manager?

The tweet provoked plenty of suggestions from the supporters which varied from the obvious candidates such as Carlo Ancelotti and Maurizio Sarri, to more audacious suggestions such as Arsene Wenger, Brendan Rodgers and Frank Lampard.
And a handful of supporters took the opportunity to slate the Chelsea board and urge them to convince Conte to remain at Stamford Bridge beyond the season.
Here’s what the Chelsea supporters had to say about their ideal replacement for Antonio Conte on Twitter…

Tuchel. We need to break the cycle of instability and appoint someone who will actually change things.

Got to be LVG. He would love to have a shot at trumping United to the title.

Antonio Conte to stay and steer us out of this mess. It's a responsibility for everyone involved with the club. The players, the manager, the fans. We are all Chelsea. We win as one and lose as one. I support him 120% #cfc

Very few managers out there better than Conte to be honest. He is still the man needed at Chelsea. Jus needs 2 or 3 world class signings and he will surely turn things around. Despite all these happenings, Chelsea are still 4th in the league and in 3 competitions.
