This is because they hear from The Sun that Frank Lampard will NOT be staying at Manchester City once his current loan deal with the club expires, returning to New York as originally planed.
As one of our punters notes, we had thought that Lampard would be convinced to stay for the whole season by Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini, especially after his recent form.
However, it seems that his parent club New York City FC will demand he returns come the turn of the year.
That is of course hugely welcoming news to Chelsea fans who have already seen Lampard score against them at the Etihad Stadium, dreading the return of their former hero when the two sides clash again at Stamford Bridge at the end of January.
This of course leaves City in a bit of a tight spot with Yaya Toure still underperforming and a whole heap of other issues at the club.
Chelsea fans. On a scale of 1 to 10, how much did it hurt when Lampard fired against you earlier on in the season? Let us know your thoughts below.
