Southampton could be about to see another player leave this summer as Mark Hughes continues his rebuild of the squad.
The Saints have seen a number of players arrive as the manager looks to improve on last season’s poor performances in the Premier League that saw the side almost relegated.
One man that has been signed to help with those aims is Angus Gunn, however, the addition of the shot-stopper could see one depart the south coast.
According to a report in The Sun, Fraser Forster has attracted interest from Turkey, with both Fenerbahce and Besiktas making enquiries about the England international, with Hughes prepared to offload him.
The 30-year-old did not have the best season of his career with the Saints and saw him lose his place to Alex McCarthy, who impressed during the latter stages of the Premier League campaign.
Forster had been a mainstay for the Saints following his arrival from Celtic in 2014, however, he struggled to replicate the performances that made him a favourite at the St. Mary’s Stadium.
With the arrival of Gunn and the impressive performances of McCarthy, it is probably wise for the 30-year-old to look elsewhere and Turkey could give him the perfect opportunity.
With Southampton’s willingness to sell, a deal may not prove to be too difficult, although the question of how much he will cost does appear to remain.
