The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to their club’s players’ Player of the Year award, and they’re not happy with who won. The Chelsea squad voted Willian as the winner, much to the dismay of the fans, who would much rather have seen N’Golo Kante win the award after another fantastic season from the Frenchman in his third year in England.

This season has been a huge disappointment for Chelsea when you compare it to last season. The club can somewhat rescue their awful year with an FA Cup win against Manchester United at Wembley on 19th May. However, the Blues look destined to miss out on Champions League football after failing to beat Huddersfield on Wednesday night, putting Liverpool in the driver’s seat in the race for the top-four.
Whilst the overall season has been poor, the club has had a few standout performers. One of those has been Willian, although the fans don’t believe the Brazilian has done enough to be voted player’s Player of the Season. In the eyes of the fans, the award should have gone to N’Golo Kante, with Cesar Azpilicueta also an honourable shout. First and foremost for the fans has been Kante though, you’d struggle to find a poor performance from the dynamic Frenchman, who Antonio Conte has relied upon time and time again over the last two seasons.
