French international star pens fresh terms with Tottenham

Goalkeeper - Hugo Lloris Tottenham Hotspur fans are looking very content here in the Football Transfer Tavern after our landlord tells us of the latest news coming out of The Independent and it involves Hugo Lloris.

The French international goalkeeper has put pen to paper on a new five-year deal with the Lilywhites ending rumours of  move away from the North London side and probably disappointing a fair few suitors abroad.

Over a pint, our regulars note that they think that the new deal has a lot to do with newly instated manager Mauricio Pochettino.

We think that he will have played a major part in convincing the French number one to stay after sharing his vision for the club.

Lloris was asked about the new deal and noted: “It’s very important to feel at home at a club and for my family to feel well.

“I enjoy a great relationship with the Club and the fans. The arrival of Mauricio Pochettino is important as well. I have a good feeling with him. He is also ambitious.”

Spurs fans. How big a boost is this news? Do you think you will still swoop for Michel Vorm now or will he be cautious of playing second fiddle to Lloris? Let us know your thoughts below.
