There is good news for Manchester United fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern as The Sun claim that Newcastle United’s Yohan Cabaye could well be keen on a move to Old Trafford this summer.
The French international has spoken of his desire to make a move from the North East this summer and despite reportedly being mentioned as Mike Ashley’s favourite player at the club, he is still keen on a move to enhance his prospects and chances of winning a title. Not to mention competing in the Champions League. The Frenchman himself claimed: “I like this club for a long time, I like what they do.
“The boss has left but they have appointed a very good successor — and he did some very good things with Everton.
“It could be an interesting challenge but there is nothing concrete and I am still at Newcastle. You never know what happens in football.
“Going on holiday can’t come soon enough to clear my head of the difficult season we have just had.
“I have had no direct contact with anyone, maybe my agents are currently in the know.
“I like England as well. I will need to look at the situation but you never know.”
