The Daily Express have Manchester City fans looking slightly concerned here in the Football Transfer Tavern.
This is after the publication claimed that Alvaro Negredo is set to be cut from the Citizens’ Champions League squad this term.
The Spanish forward is currently out injured and has been linked with a move away from the champions all summer with a return to La Liga mooted.
Now it seems that after being cut from the Champions League squad due to the foreign player restrictions, further doubts over the future of Negredo are set to arise.
Despite the player being injured, a summer move could well happen and failing this, potentially a January transfer window switch.
As one of our regulars notes over a pint, given the fact that Negredo has now been displaced in the starting line-up by both Stevan Jovetic and also Edin Dezko, even if he was fit, we think that it could well be the ideal time for the Spaniard to begin looking elsewhere.
City fans. Is this just simply something manager Manuel Pellegrini had to do or do you think that it is a massive snub to the forward who was a key part of your team last season? Let us know your thoughts below.
