The Daily Star have a shocking claim for us here in the Football Transfer Tavern, and it is one that Manchester United fans are finding hard to digest.
Robin van Persie has cast further doubt on his future at the club in an astonishing blast at his team-mates – and we think that this could well be the beginning of the end for the Dutchman.
The former Arsenal forward has reportedly been unhappy with David Moyes and his methods this season, and we think that his latest blast shows just how unhappy he really is.
He spoke after the extremely disappointing 2-0 loss to Olympiakos in the Champions League last night and claimed to Dutch broadcaster NOS: “It was quite difficult because my team-mates are often in the area where I want to play.
“That’s why I have to change my tactics. Unfortunately, they are often in my area.
“It was much too slow today and we only had one shot on target in the whole match against Olympiacos, which is far too little.”
Our punters place down their pints to discuss their thoughts and they surmise that van Persie could be trying to engineer a summer move away from Old Trafford and the David Moyes regime.
Even if secretly wants Moyes out, we think that Wayne Rooney and co could well be offended at these latest remarks!
What do you make of van Persie speaking out in this manner in the direct aftermath of another embarassing defeat? Let us know your thoughts below.
