It seems never ending – well in fact we at the Football Transfer Tavern feel it will roll on and on. The Daily Star yet again claim that Manchester United are hopeful of landing Cristiano Ronaldo after talks between the player and Real Madrid broke down.
The Spanish giants have long been hopeful of securing the player on a new deal due to the fact his current one ends in 2015 yet Ronaldo has resisted. There has been speculation that the player may make a move to Paris Saint Germain or even follow Jose Mourinho to the club he potentially ends up at. There have even been audacious claims that Manchester City may land the player.
All of this however did not compare to the package it was rumored Sir Alex Ferguson was preparing in order to secure the forward and United fans are still hoping they can lure Ronaldo back to the club he still claims has a spot in his heart.
Ronaldo is disillusioned by the fact that not only does he have to deal with the constant battle with Lionel Messi in Spain, but the club do not offer him enough protection or support. Add to this he pays 40 per cent of his personal endorsement revenue to the club and he is looking for a way out. Additionally, United will land a huge sum if future sponsors Chevrolet manage to buy out AON and begin the deal early with the Portuguese international a prospective brand ambassador.
Is Ronaldo destined to rejoin the Red Devils at some point? Rate this rumour below.
