From Argentina: Tottenham set to battle European giants for World Cup ace this summer

Tottenham Hotspur fans in the Transfer Tavern will be keen to see a number of players arrive at White Hart Lane this summer as they look to compete for silverware.

Mauricio Pochettino is keen on making sure that his Spurs side is strong in every position as they look to undertake a long and gruelling season and hope to be able to lift a trophy once it is all over.

The north-London outfit have been linked with a number of players over the course of the summer, however, they have failed to make any moves for them and the locals will be hoping the club do not leave it until the last minute, as they have done in the past.

One man that they are rumoured to be interested in is Porto’s Juan Fernando Quintero, according to a report by Ole in Argentina. The playmaker is currently on loan at River Plate and is expected to make a permanent transfer to the Argentinians due to an arrangement in the loan deal.

However, that has not put Tottenham off of a possible deal, following the 25-year-old’s performances for Colombia so far in the World Cup. Spurs, who are expected to have to battle with Real Madrid for his signature, may have to put up with €22million to bring him to London as that is what his release clause will be when he signs for River.

A deal worth approximately €22m would not be considered outrageous for Spurs to spend on a player of his quality and the locals in the Tavern would love to see him dazzle in the Premier League.
