From Spain: Emery considering ambitious Arsenal transfer but faces huge issue

Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern will be looking forward to what Unai Emery manages to bring to the Emirates Stadium this season.

The former Paris Saint-Germain manager was announced as Arsene Wenger’s successor and has already been active in the transfer market, recruiting a number of players in areas that he felt needed strengthening in order to maintain a challenge for a Champions League spot.

Emery is thought to still be in the market for a few more names to arrive at the Emirates Stadium this summer, and according to reports in Spain, he could be prepared to raid one of Europe’s biggest clubs.

According to OKDIARIO, Real Madrid’s Lucas Vazquez is considered to be one of the Gunners’ top targets and is prepared to pay big money to make a move happen including to offer him a contract three-times the value of his current deal, however, it is being suggested that Los Blancos do not want to sell the player.

Landlord’s Verdict

A move for Vazquez would be extremely ambitious for the Gunners to make, however, if it was managed to be done, the locals in the Tavern would be absolutely delighted with a deal.

The 26-year-old made more appearances for Real Madrid than anyone else last season and with Julen Lopetegui, who gave him his first World Cup call-up, as the new manager at the Santiago Bernabeu, it could make a deal all that more difficult to complete.
