From Spain: Liverpool could miss out on long-term target as Premier League rivals swoop

Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern will be desperate to see a new goalkeeper arrive at Anfield this summer and Jurgen Klopp has identified a couple of men that he would like to be in between the sticks.

The locals will know that the Reds will need to have a new number one in place if they are to become even more competitive next season, as they look to break their trophy drought.

Klopp would have felt that Loris Karius would have been the man to finally answer those questions, however, his errors in the Champions League final will have brought those concerns back to the forefront of the German’s mind.

One man that Liverpool have been linked with all summer as a possible signing is Alisson Becker from AS Roma, however, they will be facing stiff competition from other European clubs for the Brazilian and could be set to miss out on signing him.

It is being reported by Marca in Spain, that Chelsea have now become favourites to acquire the shot-stopper, with Liverpool seemingly unwilling to pay the €70million being demanded by the Serie A outfit.

Landlord’s Verdict

The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern will be becoming frustrated with what has started to happen to their side in the transfer market. The Reds started off their recruitment drive in quick fashion with the addition of Fabinho, however, they have failed to get Nabil Fekir and appear to be beaten by Premier League rivals Chelsea for Alisson.

The locals will not be happy if that does happen, as the club have been chasing him for months and will be concerned that the Anfield outfit did not get a deal done as soon as they possibly could.
