Frustrating news for Liverpool as Klopp suffers blow in summer transfer pursuit

The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern have been getting very excited at talk of Mo Salah moving to Anfield this summer…

It was noted yesterday by Tutto Mercato Web that the Reds were in ‘advanced’ talks with Salah over a move, but according to the Times, these discussions have hit a rather frustrating blow.

The Times are reporting that Liverpool have had a £28 million move for Salah turned down by Roma, with the Italian outfit seemingly not ready to let their star attacker go. That being said, there is a silver lining for Liverpool, with around £35 million likely to be enough for Klopp to get his man.

Indeed, this is certainly frustrating news for Liverpool, as adding another £7 million onto their first move for Salah will bring question marks regarding whether the Egyptian is really worth it.

Judging by his form through the 2016/17 season, with 15 goals and 11 assists, it would certainly seem that he is, but his poor spell at Chelsea earlier in his career has done very little to convince the Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern that he is physically ready for the Premier League.

That being said, further talks are reportedly forthcoming for Salah, and with the midfielder said to be interested in the move, anything could happen.
