FSG need to secure Doucoure and Dembele in January

Liverpool will be desperate produce a lead at the top of the table after a fine start to proceedings in the Premier League.

The Reds are currently one of the form teams in the Premier League, with an elusive trophy under Jurgen Klopp not too far away after coming close in the Champions League last season.

However, the Merseyside club could do with strengthening in at least one area during the January transfer window, with their Premier League rivals looking to do the same thing. So, with Liverpool’s owner Fenway Sports Group not afraid to splash the cash, perhaps another couple of impressive signings will get even more supporters on board.

With that in mind, if FSG seals these 2 January deals, fans will surely love them.

Abdoulaye Doucoure

Abdoulaye Doucoure has been one of the standout performers for Watford over the past season or so, which has seen him attract the attention of a number of Premier League clubs.

Indeed, the central midfielder has been rather quiet on the goal front in the current campaign but he showed exactly what he can do in the final third last season, as he scored seven and assisted four goals.

So, Liverpool could definitely benefit from having his height and strength in the middle of the park, with James Milner being linked with Leeds and Fabinho struggling to break into the starting XI.

Ousmane Dembele

Ousmane Dembele continues to be linked with a move away from Barcelona in the January transfer window after struggling to enjoy regular minutes over in Spain.

The Reds currently have one of the strongest attacks in Europe but they could do with bringing in some reinforcements in the case of an injury.

Indeed, the Frenchman has already shown his quality during his time at Barcelona and was a hit at Borussia Dortmund, so the Reds must be smart by bringing him to Anfield with the potential to become a world superstar.
