Aston Villa, Fulham and Arsenal supporters inside the Football Transfer Tavern have all given Jack Wilson of the Daily Express their full attention as he arrives with news that affects all of their teams.
Villa youngster Matthew Lowton has been attracting interest from the London pair following some impressive displays for the Midlands club, especially during the second half of the season.
But it looks as if Fulham are set to pip Arsenal to the 23-year-old, as Martin Jol stepped up his interest in the player by sending scouts to watch the defender in action.
Whilst Villa have spent the majority of the season battling relegation, Lowton has done enough to suggest he can hack it at Premier League level, and is expected to cost around £5million – potentially less should Villa slip into the Championship.
Lowton is thought to be keen on first team football, and is far more likely to experience that at Craven Cottage than the Emirates Stadium, putting Jol in pole position to make the signing.
Lowton moved to Villa Park from Sheffield United in July last summer, and has managed to appear in all 34 Premier League matches this season.
