Fulham will be hoping to make a real fist of things on their return to Premier League football, with manager Slavisa Jokanovic undoubtedly having confident in his young squad to compete at the highest level.

Big money signings such as Aleksandar Mitrovic and Jean-Michael Seri have added quality to a strong core that already contained the likes of Tom Cairney and Ryan Sessegnon, and the Cottagers just might surprise a few people if things can get off to a good start.

Last season saw the Craven Cottage witness some of the best football on display in the Championship, and that same principle will no doubt be a key element of this season's campaign. However, we at the Transfer Tavern think adding a few more names to the ranks could well go a long way for Jokanovic and co.

Indeed, one player think would be a superb signing if West Bromwich Albion winger Matty Phillips, who is still a Baggies player despite seeing his side drop into the Championship.

However, the £8.1m-rated speedster is regarded by many as too good for the second tier, and it would come of no surprise if someone like Fulham was to make a bid for the winger. Phillips can be a class act on his day and has the ability to change a game with his dribbling, speed of foot, and finishing, and he would be a useful addition who would no doubt fit in in seamlessly with how Fulham play.

Phillips is a quality act, and if Fulham want strength in depth, he could well be the perfect signing.
