Fulham's transfer window has been full of forward-thinking acquisitions already this summer with both Jean Michael Seri and Andre Schurrle agreeing to move to Craven Cottage, and that trend looks set to continue in the coming days according to recent reports.

According to The London Evening Standard, Fulham are set to complete the permanent signing of Aleksandar Mitrovic in a deal worth £20 million from Newcastle with the striker due in London to complete a deal, whilst Slavisa Jokanovic is also keen to bring in Swansea City's Alfie Mawson in a deal worth £22 million.

With the financial backing of Shad Khan behind him, Jokanovic has been able to add a significant layer of quality to his spine this summer with the signing of Seri, but a double deal for Mawson and Mitrovic could be his most productive piece of business yet.

Mawson is a central defender who has demonstrated a tremendous ability to lead from the back during his career with Swansea City, so his arrival at Fulham would certainly be a huge boost for the defenders already present at Craven Cottage.

Meanwhile Mitrovic's firepower at the spearhead of Fulham's attack will give the club a menacing goalscorer who possesses the clinical instinct to find the back of the net on a regular basis in the top-flight, even if his record at Newcastle suggests he has struggled in the Premier League so far.

But personal differences with Benitez and a lack of opportunity have stifled his career on Tyneside, so the Fulham supporters should still be expecting a big season from him as they bid to push for a mid-table finish.

If Fulham are successful in their pursuit of the two aforementioned players, Jokanovic will have a brand new spine on his hands, along with a creative attacking player, namely Andre Schurrle, who is more than capable of providing a cutting edge when they need it most next season.

Even with the new signings to consider there's no doubt that Fulham will struggle to step up to the standard of the Premier League next season, but the imminent double deal will give them a huge advantage over their relegation rivals.
