Manchester United boss David Moyes has pleased us at the Transfer Tavern by claiming that he will spend big in January with the money ready and waiting, as reported by Sky Sports.
United failed to sign the players they wanted to in the summer apart from Marouane Fellaini and have struggled so far this season residing in mid-table and well adrift of leaders Arsenal.
A number of players turned down moves to Old Trafford in the summer including Thiago Alcantara and Cesc Fabregas but Moyes is confident he can attract the right players in the new year.
Marouane Fellaini has not been the success that Moyes had hoped and as the transfer policy of the summer is one thing that the former Everton manager has been criticised for.
A poor run of form has coincided with the loss of key players such as Robin van Persie and Michael Carrick but with both out for the foreseeable future, United will have to adapt.
“The club have the money and they will spend, there’s no question about that,” Moyes is quoted by a number of newspapers.
“We were very close to a major, major signing back in the summer.
“It’s easy now saying it and we didn’t do it but we were really close to a major signing and the club would have definitely shown what they’re worth.”
