Spurs fans are sitting up and taking note of that latest claim from the Metro today at the Football Transfer Tavern as they note that star man Gareth Bale feels betrayed by the club.
As anyone who hasn’t been living under a rock for the past year knows, Real Madrid and Florentino Perez are keen on landing the Welshman and bids of up to £85 million have been rumoured. Now it seems that despite only yesterday noting that Bale would be offered a new deal with the club worth up to £150,000 per week, it now appears that he is fuming at the club and will reject any offers of a new deal and has pushed for the move he so badly wants. The Metro report that Bale spoke to Levy and claimed ‘You made me a promise. You promised me if we didn’t qualify for the Champions League and a good offer turned up you’d listen to it,’
‘Well that offer has arrived and I want to play for Real Madrid. So keep your word and negotiate.’
Clearly Bale is not happy with the way Spurs have negotiated thus far and given that Neymar has joined arch rivals Barcelona, the last thing Perez needs are rumours linking Cristiano Ronaldo to Manchester United and Spurs stalling on the Bale move.
