Our Tottenham fans in the Transfer Tavern will be hoping for a good FA Cup run in a bid to bring Mauricio Pochettino his first piece of silverware. Indeed, while the Argentine’s work in north London has been wonderful, he needs a trophy.
To his credit, Pochettino is a huge fan of young talent and is never shy of putting his faith in burgeoning players. So, Spurs’ third-round game against AFC Wimbledon will be another perfect opportunity to bleed some of the youth players into the first-team, carrying on that now famous trend.
His current crop of talent has taken Spurs above and beyond in recent seasons and the whole fanbase will be hoping it may long continue into the future under his excellent stewardship.
For most of our punters, the idea that Pochettino needs a little silverware to truly set himself has a big-time manager goes without saying and this could be Spurs’ best chance to add to their eight FA Cup wins already. The idea of the sight of the former Southampton holding a trophy aloft at the end of the campaign certainly excites our local Lillywhites.
Our barman thinks these two teenagers can really showcase what strength in depth Spurs have at youth level and many of the locals will be eager to cast their eyes on the first taste of first-team action for these two players…
