Gary Lineker is one of the greatest football presenters out there and back in his day, he was one of the best strikers in the world. So for someone of his calibre in the game to claim that 19-year-old Trent Alexander-Arnold looks like he could make over 100 appearances for his country as a midfielder is a huge statement.

So far in his career Liverpool have just used Alexander-Arnold as a right-back. However, with the youngster being able to slot in on the right wing and in central midfield, Lineker's claim could be very accurate. On Tuesday the youngster started against PSG in the Champions League and looked right at home as he went toe-to-toe with Neymar and Kylian Mbappe, so there's no doubting he has a big future.

Lineker himself was fortunate enough to rack up 80 England caps and he bagged a tidy 48 goals in that time too. He's well placed to know what it takes to play for your country and he obviously sees something special in Alexander-Arnold, who was called up to the England squad for the World Cup despite the fact he had zero caps upon his selection. He now has three caps to his name, but he will be tipped to go on and win many, many more.

The fans love the idea of Trent Alexander-Arnold becoming an England centurion as a midfielder and will hope one day it can happen.
