Gary Neville explains what Tottenham’s biggest problem has been this season

The Lilywhites season has turned around somewhat in recent weeks, but a 2-0 defeat to Liverpool over the weekend has left the fans in the Transfer Tavern feeling very disappointed.

With Chelsea steaming ahead in the title race, very few in the pub think that Tottenham are likely to pose a threat this season – with defeats against big teams coming on a number of occasions this season.

This, according to Gary Neville, is what could cost Mauricio Pochettino’s side, too, with the Man Utd legend drawing upon their lack of experience in big away games as a deciding factor.

Speaking during Monday Night Football on Sky Sports, Neville said: “They’re a bit timid…they’ve got to mature as young players…they’re better than what they’re showing away from home”.

It is very difficult to argue with Gary Neville’s points, especially when you consider that Tottenham have typically done well in the big games when from home.

They recently beat Chelsea, whilst they also took apart Man City earlier in the season.

The pieces are all there for Mauricio Pochettino, but our landlord thinks that he needs to bring them together.
