Georges-Kevin N’Koudou attracting interest from France

Tottenham Hotspur got their Premier League season off to a solid start with a 2-1 win against Newcastle United at St. James’ Park on Saturday.

Much of the talk prior to their match with the Magpies was about the club’s failure to make any additions to the squad during the transfer window, however, Mauricio Pochettino’s side still managed to put on a strong performance out on the field.

However, for clubs outside of England, the transfer window is still open and Tottenham could be about to see one man leave White Hart Lane this summer, should reports in France be considered.

According to Le Progres, Georges-Kevin N’Koudou has become a possible target for Saint-Etienne, should they fail to land Remy Cabella from Olympique de Marseille.

It is being claimed that the 23-year-old has attracted keen interest from the Ligue One side, especially their manager, however, they are focused on other targets at the present moment.

The Verdict:

N’Koudou has struggled to make an impact at Tottenham following his 2016 move from Marseille and spent time on loan with Burnley last season.

He put in a number of impressive performances for Spurs during their pre-season, however, he failed to be named in Pochettino’s squad for the victory against Newcastle at the weekend.

That absence gives the opinion that N’Koudou could find it difficult to break into the first-team once again, and a move back to France could be a great option for him to take, should the opportunity arise.
