Georges-Kevin N’Koudou has not had the best of times at Tottenham Hotspur. The winger has struggled to make a significant impression since joining the north London outfit and has failed to convince Mauricio Pochettino to give him a proper opportunity in his first-team.
The former France Under-21 international has spent time on loan at a couple of clubs, however, it appears he has not done enough to secure a permanent move away from Spurs just yet.
What’s the News?
L’Equipe (via Sport Witness) are claiming N’Koudou looks likely to return to Tottenham this summer following his loan spell.
Monaco are keen to reduce their wage bill and it is believed the Spurs’ man could be one to leave the French club this summer.
The winger has managed just 20 minutes of action for AS Monaco in three substitute appearances since January, although he has been injured with a hamstring problem for some time.
If the report by L’Equipe is true, then the news must surely come as a blow to everyone involved.
N’Koudou certainly does not appear to have a future at Tottenham and many would have been hoping that he could have made a big enough impression during his loan spell at AS Monaco.
However, as mentioned, an injury in the very early stages of his time in the French municipality has seriously derailed any chance he may have had and it is hardly surprising to hear that they will pass on any attempt to sign him permanently.
Now, that will mean Pochettino will have a decision to make regarding the 24-year-old in the upcoming summer transfer window once he returns to the club.
There is no doubt that the Argentine will look to offload N’Koudou, however, whether he can do so permanently, or even temporarily, remains to be seen.
