West Ham United fans will feel as if their side are in with a great chance of securing a European spot in the current campaign, despite their disappointing start to proceedings under Manuel Pellegrini.
Most of the Hammers’ summer signings have now found their feet at the London Stadium and have played a key part in helping their side up the Premier League table. Indeed, the likes of Felipe Anderson, Issa Diop, Andriy Yarmolenko, Fabian Balbuena, Ryan Fredericks and Lukasz Fabianski have all impressed.
However, one player in particular has gone above and beyond what was expected, and that is Felipe Anderson.
But, It appears as if West Ham fans aren’t the only people in awe of the Brazilian, as Sky Sports journalist Gerard Brand raved about Anderson and named him as the signing of the summer in the Premier League.
‘Though he’s not a like-for-like replacement for Dimitri Payet, Felipe Anderson certainly has Hammers fans off their seats like the Frenchman did. The Brazilian was slow to start, but then chipped in with seven goals in nine games in November and December, and there’s a clear reason why Real Madrid are thought to be planning a move for the 25-year-old if they fail to land Eden Hazard. He may not have scored in 2019, but Anderson still remains a huge threat for West Ham; his running off the ball creates space for others and often goes unnoticed, and his statistics are up there with the best.’
David Gold and David Sullivan’s genius decision to sign Anderson for a club record fee back in the summer transfer window has proved to be an incredible piece of business, as he’s gone on to establish himself as one of the best attackers in English football by producing an impressive nine goals and five assists in all competitions.
He constantly creates excitement at the London Stadium and he’s spearheaded their push for a European spot in the current campaign. And, it’s crazy to think that he still has some of his best years ahead of him at the age of 25.
