Gerrard’s Rangers rebuild expected to continue before jetting off – Report

Rangers fans in the Transfer Tavern will have been encouraged by the early days of Steven Gerrard’s reign and will hope it will continue and he can get the team to produce the results required.

The Liverpool legend was named as Ibrox chief at the beginning of the month and will not start in his official capacity until Friday, however, he has already been making his mark on the side. Gerrard has already brought in a number of players and, according to reports, he is far from finished with his recruitment drive.

The Glasgow Evening Times are claiming that he is preparing to bring more fresh new faces to the Light Blues before they head to Spain for a warm-weather training camp next month, with the likes of Connor Goldson, Martin Skrtel and Jermain Defoe all being linked in the past.

Landlord’s Verdict

The Rangers fans in the Tavern will be excited with the news that the club is far from done with their transfer activity, with a number of the locals feeling that the whole squad will need rebuilding this summer if they are to have any chance of competing with Old Firm rivals Celtic for domestic honours.

The Light Blues are expected to get rid of a number of players, as well as bring in some, this summer and they will wait and see who Gerrard feels is no longer required at Ibrox when he takes over.
