Liverpool supporters have been in high spirits in the Transfer Tavern this week after seeing their side batter West Ham 4-1 at the London Stadium on Saturday to move up to fifth in the Premier League table.
Jurgen Klopp’s men went into their clash with the struggling Hammers off the back of comfortable victories over Huddersfield Town and Maribor, and they made a fast start in East London as well with goals from Mohamed Salah and Joel Matip giving them a two-goal lead at half time. And although Manuel Lanzini got one back for the hosts ten minutes into the second period, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain restored the Reds’ two-goal cushion almost immediately, before the impressive Salah made it four with quarter of an hour to play to complete the rout.
Thus, there has been a huge buzz around our resident Liverpool fans in the Tavern this week, with many already looking forward to their side’s return to league action in eight days’ time against Southampton at Anfield.
However, there is still plenty for those Reds supporters lining up at the bar to discuss, not least a recent interview from left-back Alberto Moreno for Marca (via The Daily Express), which outlines the Spaniard’s struggles for regular football last season, but ultimate desire to remain at the club.
The 25-year-old made the move to Anfield back in 2014 but was disposed as Klopp’s number one left-back last season by James Milner after a woeful start to the campaign, although he has been reinstated this season after a string of solid performances.
And Moreno has recently had his say on the matter, and they are comments which have stimulated quite a response from Liverpool supporters on Twitter.
And it’s fair to say that many feel that the defender needs to move on, especially as he is playing regularly this time round…
the fact you cant defend not good enough?

Tired of seeing Moreno give the same interview. There’s no need to continually go over this topic & publicly discredit the manager. https://t.co/VGWtTeFaPh
