‘Get him in ASAP!’, ‘An amazing player’ – Everton fans demand swift conclusion to transfer saga on Twitter

The resident Toffees in the Transfer Tavern are hoping Sam Allardyce can bolster their side’s attacking options with the purchase of a proven goal-scorer during the January transfer window.

Despite losing 2-0 against Manchester United at Goodison Park yesterday afternoon, the Everton supporters have been impressed with the club’s improvement since Allardyce took charge at the end of November.  The early stages of the season were largely uncomfortable for the Everton supporters as they struggled to gather momentum under Ronald Koeman and David Unsworth thereafter. However, since the appointment of Allardyce, Everton have managed to climb the table and dispel any fears regarding a potential relegation to The Championship this season.

Big Sam has now had more than a month to assess the capabilities of his current crop of players and identify the areas which are most in need of strengthening.

According to reports in The Daily MailAllardyce is targeting the acquisition of a new centre-forward, with Besiktas’ top-goalscorer Cenk Tosun at the top of his wish-list.

The same report claims that Everton have submitted a £25 million bid for his services, but Besiktas are holding out for £27 million for the 26-year-old.

So far this season, Tosun has scored 14 goals in all-competitions, including 4 in the Champions League for the Turkish giants.

Despite his impressive record, the transfer will undoubtedly carry a risk due to the step up in class that is involved when moving from the Turkish top-flight to the English top-flight.

However, that admission has certainly not deterred the Everton fans from demanding their club to bring Tosun to Goodison Park this month.

Here’s what the Everton supporters had to say about a move for Cenk Tosun…
