The Manchester City fans were pleased to see their side progress into the fourth round of the FA Cup with relative ease on Saturday afternoon.
Despite suffering an early scare in their third round tie against Burnley, Pep Guaridola’s City side comfortably dispatched of the Clarets by 4 goals to 1 following a flurry of second half goals. Sean Dyche’s Burnley side have earned themselves a reputation as a club who are notoriously hard to beat, and they more than lived up to their reputation against City during the opening 45 minutes at The Etihad.
Burnely were solid and resolute in their defensive third, and they were clinical on the break, as Ashley Barnes slammed home a terrific half-volley in the 25th minute to put the travelling side into a shock lead. However, the match swiftly turned on its head in the second-half as Sergio Aguero scored a quick-fire brace before Sane and Bernardo Silva concluded the scoring for The Citizens.
The City supporters propping up the bar in the tavern are delighted that their quadruple dreams remain firmly in tact after their weekend victory, but they are insistent that new signings will be necessary this month to maintain any realistic ambitions of winning all four trophies.
City have been linked with a number of central defenders already this month due to concerns over Vinceny Kompany’s fitness, and according to The Sun, Guardiola is keen on bringing Leicester City’s Harry Maguire to Manchester this month in a deal that could be worth £50 million.
Plenty of the fans are understandably shocked by the astronomical size of the rumoured transfer fee, but that has not stopped them from calling for his signature this month.
Judging by the response on Twitter, Maguire’s performances for The Foxes have certainly impressed the majority of City supporters who would be pleased to see him make a switch to The Etihad this month.
Here’s what the City fans had to say about Maguire on Twitter…
Harry will turn into a world class defender if given time and the right coaching,an outstanding young man.

When Michael Keane went for 30m we st #hcafc thought Harry could fetch more than that, and were horrified we sold for 17m. Kid is top class and will go right to the top. The player Pep thought Stones could be as one national journo said

It makes sense, he's a quite good in the air (man city need someone like him to defend against set-pieces) and he's able to dribble past 1-2 players which is often wanted by pep.. £50m is a lot but pep needs him
