It’s been a good few weeks for the Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern, and it could be about to get even better. It was confirmed earlier this month that Mesut Ozil had agreed an extension to his contract at Arsenal, with his latest deal set to take him into his 30s.
It was a massive deal for the Gunners, and it’s fair to say that most fans have been delighted over the last week or so as a result. However, their joy could turn to adulation soon, at least if a report from the Telegraph is to be believed.
Of course, Wilshere’s current deal expires at the end of the season – much like Ozil’s did – and so there has been some concern that he could leave the club.
Wilshere is a fan favourite at the Emirates, owing to his homegrown status, and so losing him would arguably be as big of a blow as losing Ozil – but now that doesn’t look likely to be the case.
Unsurprisingly, the Arsenal fans over on Twitter are struggling to contain their excitement, and their love for Wilshere is evidently clear. ‘Super Jack’, as he is known, is earning a lot of plaudits on the site, with fans desperate for this news to be confirmed.
