Chelsea will be looking to pick up where they left off prior to the international break, with the chance to try and build a lead at the top of the table.
The Blues managed to secure a convincing victory away from home last time out as they defeated a helpless Southampton side 3-0 at St Mary’s.
However, Chelsea will welcome a struggling Manchester United side to Stamford Bridge in their next Premier League encounter.
Indeed, this will be a key game for a couple of the club’s first team members, with a disappointing showing possibly causing for them to be axed and frozen out of the side.
With that in mind, here’s a look at TWO players that could face axing if they don’t put in a huge performance…
The Frenchman is still yet to find the back of the net for Chelsea in the current campaign, despite providing four assists in the Premier League. Of course, this needs to change if the Blues are serious about challenging for the title, with the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City constantly hitting the back of the net.
So, the forward simply has to get himself on the scoresheet against Manchester United later on today as he could lose out on a starting place to Alvaro Morata if things don’t improve.
Willian has enjoyed regular minutes in the side this season under Maurizio Sarri, despite Pedro constantly contributing on the field for the Blues.
Although, the Brazilian hasn’t quite lived up to expectations in recent times and often struggles to contribute in the Premier League, with just one goal and one assist in his last four top-flight appearances.
Therefore, the winger must put in an accomplished performance against Manchester United as he runs the risk of being frozen out of the side, with Pedro waiting patiently in line as his replacement.
