‘Give him a game’ – Fans satisfied with surprising West Ham news

West Ham supporters have been drowning their sorrows in the Transfer Tavern this week following their side’s defeat at home to Tottenham on Saturday.

The East London outfit were embarking on a three-match unbeaten streak before Spurs’ visit to the London Stadium last weekend, having beaten Huddersfield Town and Bolton Wanderers, and drawn away at West Brom.

However, that run was halted by Mauricio Pochettino’s side on Saturday thanks to a brace from Harry Kane and Christian Eriksen’s second of the season, leaving Slaven Bilic’s men in the bottom three ahead of their crucial encounter against Swansea City this weekend.

And there has been some interesting news to come out of the East London club this week (via Football.London), as youngster Reece Oxford is set to return to the London Stadium following a failed loan spell at Bundesliga side Borussia Monchengladbach.

The 18-year-old has failed to make a first team appearance in any of their six league games, and following a tricky time at Reading last time out, where he also struggled for regular football, things aren’t quite going according to plan for the England youth international.

And reports suggest that he’ll be coming back to West Ham in December, which is news that has provoked quite a reaction from Hammers supporters on Twitter.

And it’s fair to say that they are hoping he’ll get a chance in the first team at some stage this term…
