Global icon plans to snub Man City for Manchester United

Pep GuardiolaFans from across the Manchester divide have clashed in the Transfer Tavern this afternoon after sensational reports emerged from the continent, which pushed another wedge between the two rival supporters.

The Sunday Telegraph states that Pep Guardiola’s preferred destination when he leaves Bayern Munich is Manchester United and that Catalan may therefore snub the approaches of Manchester City.

Guardiola’s contract with the Bavarian club expires next summer and no news of a new deal is forthcoming, with Bayern adamant that a decision will be reached one way or another before the New Year.

Current United boss Louis Van Gaal sees his deal at Old Trafford expire in 2017, which means United would have to pay-off the Dutch manager to replace him sooner, but the Red Devils are unlikely to baulk at his £7m pay-off price.

A potential arrival for Guardiola at United would send shockwaves across the Premier League, with the 44-year-old being rated as one of the best managers in the world and having a number of top sides chasing his signature.

United fans sparked the arguments this afternoon by stating their club is definitely the better option for Guardiola and that joining the Citizens would be the wrong choice.

Will Pep Guardiola leave Bayern Munich in 2016? Which club should he join? Let us know in the comments below!
