Another action packed Premiership day.
Arsenal sat on a lead courtesy of a strange old goal from Cesc right up until the 5th minute of added play. Credit to Sunderland for halting the Gunners free scoring spree, but they will have to feel that they let 2 points slip there. Howler of a penalty being Exhibit A, m’lud.
Spurs left it late too. Mick McCarthy must have felt that he was going to vex Harry Redknapp yet again at The Lane, but eventually Tottenham’s makeshift Dutch/Scottish /Russian strike-force scraped their way back into credit.
Check out the Russian’s celebration…
Given Everton’s superb performance against Manchester United, Newcastle showed some steel after their not superb showing against Blackpool. New boy Hatem Ben Arfa got the only goal of the game.
Gerald Houllier was on the premises as Villa secured a solitary point against Bolton. I don’t get why people support Bolton. Anyway, Ashley Young fans will quite rightly revel in the quality of his goal.
Scott Parker is a goal machine™. And old Stoke are getting their money’s worth from Kenny Pineapple. He shoots, he shoots, he scores.
