‘Good deal’ – Chelsea fans react as £17m-transfer is finally confirmed

The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern had high hopes for Juan Cuadrado when he moved to the club…

Signed under the managership of Jose Mourinho, Cuadrado joined the club a strong pedigree. A star in the Serie A with Fiorentina, the Columbian had been making a real name for himself across Europe.

Signed to replace Andre Schurrle at Chelsea, the winger had big shoes to fill, and in what was a very short spell, he failed to impress. Rarely making an impact and, in truth, looking out of his depth in the Premier League, Cuadrado never looked good enough to stake a claim in the Chelsea first team.

What followed was several loan spells, all at Juventus, and now it seems as though he has found his permanent home. As confirmed on Juventus’ official website, Cuadrado has completed a €20 million (£17 million) permanent move to the Italian outfit, ending a 2 year association with the Blues.

The confirmation has certainly drummed up a lot of conversation in the Transfer Tavern, and the same can be said for Reddit. Whilst some fans are wondering whether Cuadrado could have impressed under Conte, it seems that most are glad that this saga is finally over.
