Our Arsenal fans here in the Transfer Tavern are hoping that their side is going to get going quickly when they face Chelsea in the Community Shield.
The men from the Emirates go into the season curtain raiser as FA Cup winners after beating Chelsea in last year’s final whilst the Blues earned their place by winning the league.
For sure, then, it should prove a competitive affair and the Gunners’ supporters will be hoping that the likes of Alexandre Lacazette can fire them to some early-season silverware.
Whilst we wait for kick-off, though, the Gunners have been handed a rather welcome boost with James Penge on Twitter confirming that Laurent Koscielny is available and not suspended for the game:
Seems to have been confusion over this but can confirm Koscielny is available for Community Shield. Will miss Leicester (h) and Stoke (a)

The Frenchman was sent off at the end of last season but will only miss games against Leicester and Stoke with the game against Chelsea prior to that.
For sure, then, he’ll be hoping he can help his team to lift the first honour that’s on offer this season.
The Community Shield is, of course, not the biggest competition in the world but the game is a London Derby and one both will want to win.
Koscielny is going to be a big factor in that, then, and the Gunners will be glad he is ready to lead the defence against a strong Blues attack.
