Good news for Arsenal as club reportedly edge closer to deal for 21-year-old ace

The Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern are desperate for their side to get better this summer…

Last season was really one to forget for the Gunners, with the side finishing outside of the top four for the first time in recent memory. Indeed, next year Arsene Wenger will be expected to challenge for domestic glory at the very least – and he’ll need to improve the quality of his squad in order to do that.

The good news for the Arsenal fans in the pub, then, is that the Gunners appear to be edging closer to that end – with Goal reporting that Arsenal are close to securing a deal for Monaco ace Thomas Lemar.

Lemar was a key part of the Monaco side that impressed everyone in the pub last year, with the French outfit sealing the Ligue 1 title and impressing in the Champions League too.

Able to play across the midfield, he will serve as a vitally important piece of depth within the Arsenal squad, whilst he would also likely be a fantastic addition to the offensive duo of Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil.

Indeed, whilst the prospect of Lemar joining is a very exciting one for Arsenal fans, they will likely be expecting more this summer. Reinforcement both offensively and defensively is needed, though the addition of Lemar would certainly be a great start.
